Changes in your body at Week 14 of Pregnancy

At around 14 weeks pregnancy your hormones should be levelling off.  This levelling off will mean you should experience less nausea, less tiredness and less frequent urination.  However no two pregnancies are the same so you still could be suffering.

Common body changes you may notice at 14 weeks pregnant include:

  • Heartburn
  • The veins on your chest and breasts may become more dilated.
  • Constipation
  • The nipples should be growing larger in diameter.

Your baby is definitely a he or she and will be able to fit into the palm or your hand.  It will start to get covered with soft fine body hair which is called “lanugo”.  This hair protects the developing skin. Your baby’s nose is upturned for breathing during breastfeeding. Your baby will be making smoother and more rhythmical movements.

Below are typical developments which occur during the 14th week of pregnancy:
  • Digestive glands have fully developed
