Week 15 of Pregnancy

Many women feel very well at around the 15 week of pregnancy. If this is you should enjoy it and make the most of the newfound wellbeing feeling. Your baby should weigh around 1.75 ounces. You will be struggling to fit into your clothes.

Changes in your body at Week 15 of Pregnancy

  • Nosebleeds due to the drying up of mucous membranes
  • Changes to your hair and skin due to high levels of hormones
  • Stomach pain due to enlarging uterus
  • Breasts may leak a yellowish or whitish fluid called colostrum.

Baby's Development at Week 15 of Pregnancy - Baby size: 16.0cm

Your baby may now be a lot more mobile and flexible bending elboys and wrists. Sucking its thumb or grabbing the unbiblical cord is not unusual at 15 weeks of pregnancy.
Below are typical developments which occur during the 15th week of pregnancy:

  • Taste buds start to form
  • Your baby will hear its first sounds, listening to your heartbeat, digestion and voice
  • Eyebrows could appear
  • Scalp hair could appear
  • Blood vessels can easily be seen through your baby's thin translucent skin
  • Legs are longer than the arms
  • Hair follicles will begin to produce pigment
  • The bone and marrow of the skeletal system continue to form.
