Week 16 of Pregnancy

This is probably the best time of your pregnancy. At 16 weeks and the 17th, 18th and 19th you should feel pretty good. Your baby is still not too heavy and any complaints you had in the early days should be disappearing. You should have plenty of energy and be craving lots of different foods at the strangest of times. If however none of this sounds like you then don’t fret, each pregnancy is different and it doesn't mean there is anything wrong wit you or the baby.

Changes in your body at Week 16 of Pregnancy

Your baby should be feeling a bit snugger inside your belly and you should start to feel your baby moving. The baby moving inside you will feel like a little like butterflies or gas. If your baby is not moving just yet, don’t worry, it can happen anywhere between 16 and 22 weeks of pregnancy and it all depends of whether you are over weight or have a thick uterus. The reason you will start feeling movements around this time is because the baby's bones are hardening so the movements are easier to fell.

Common body changes you may notice at 16 weeks pregnant include:

  • Stuffy nose and nosebleeds
  • Bleeding gums
  • Pain in your abdomen (from ligaments that are stretching)
  • Swollen feet
