Week 37 of Pregnancy
Your baby is officially full term now but can still benefit from extra days in your womb. In most circumstances nothing will be done to prevent labor. You are probably very excited and a little anxious about the prospect of giving birth. If you haven't packed a delivery bag you should do so now.
Changes in your body at Week 37 of Pregnancy
You may notice you have lost a few pounds which is quite common and nothing to worry about. Just ensure you are eating healthily and drinking plenty of water. Many women stay the same size now right up until the day you deliver.
Changes you may experience during the 37th week of pregnancy include:
- Possible vaginal discharge - this is the mucous plug that sealed off your uterus
- Back pain
- Swollen ankles
- Your uterus may stop growing around this week
Baby's Development at Week 37 of Pregnancy - Baby size: 48.6cm
Your baby should weigh on average around 6.5 pounds and is around 19 inches long and could be born any day now.
Some typical developments which occur during the 37th week of pregnancy are:
- Baby's grasp is firm now and kicks will be harder
- Baby turns towards light outside the uterus
- Baby will be practicing breathing movements which is preparing for life outside the womb
- Languo hair is almost gone
