During pregnancy week 39 not much is going on. Most women are quite ready for delivery around 39 weeks pregnant and can’t wait for the labor to start. Having carried a baby for all this time you’re ready for the next stage, giving birth and tending your new born, then thinking about getting back into those jeans! Remember the emotional roller coaster you have been on will continue for a few weeks after birth
Changes in your body at Week 39 of Pregnancy
Changes you may experience during the 39th week of pregnancy include:
- Mood swings
- Bloody shows
- Loss of mucous plug
- Nesting instinct - are you cleaning frantically?
- Loose stools
- Loss of weight
- Increase in appetite
- Braxton hicks
- Easier to breath - uterus is not pressing on your diaphragm any more

Your baby's weight is around 7.25 pounds and length is 19.9 inches
Some typical developments which occur during the 39th week of pregnancy are:
- Baby has very little space to move have which will trigger labor
- Continues to develop layers of fat stores
- Lanugo is now mostly disappeared
- Lungs are maturing and surfactant production is increasing
- Baby's movement is limited due to lack of space
