Your baby is now in its second month of development and is around the size of a marble. Your baby is growing very rapidly at this time so care should be taken in everything you do.
Changes in your body at Week 7 of Pregnancy
During week seven of your pregnancy your baby is the size of a marble and should not be physically showing just yet. Symptoms some mothers experience around 7 weeks may include:
- Constipation
- Morning sickness and nausea
- Excess saliva
- Expanding waistline
- Vaginal discharge
Baby's Development at Week 7 of Pregnancy - Baby size: 17 to 22mm
Your baby is around half an inch long and weighs less than an aspirin tablet. Changes occurring to the baby at this time include:
- Tongue begins to form
- Heart becomes completely formed
- Kidneys begin to form
- The eyes appear as dark spots, and the eyelid folds are forming
- The stomach and esophagus begin to form
- The umbilical cord is now clearly visible
- The trunk of the body elongates and straightens
- The pituitary gland is forming in the middle of the brain
- Spleen and liver ducts are forming, and the intestines are elongating
- The cerebral cortex part of the brain is now visible
